FPA EXAMPREP’s CDS Classes feature a robust curriculum meticulously crafted to cover all aspects of the Combined Defense Services examination. Our curriculum is designed to comprehensively prepare students for the written exam, which includes English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics.

Our experienced faculty members, many of whom have firsthand experience in defense services, deliver engaging lectures and interactive sessions to ensure conceptual clarity and depth of understanding. The curriculum emphasizes not only theoretical knowledge but also practical application through problem-solving exercises, case studies, and mock tests.

In addition to classroom teaching, we provide comprehensive study materials including textbooks, practice papers, and online resources. Structure of the CDS Exam

The CDS Examination consists of two stages:

1. Written Examination:

   • The written examination comprises multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is conducted in pen and paper mode.
   • For candidates applying to the IMA, INA, and AFA, the written exam consists of three papers:
     • English: This paper evaluates candidates’ proficiency in English language comprehension, grammar, and usage.
     • General Knowledge: This paper covers a wide range of subjects including current affairs, history, geography, economics, and general science.
     • Elementary Mathematics: This paper tests candidates’ knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics (for candidates applying to the IMA, INA, and AFA only).
   • For candidates applying to the OTA, the written exam consists of two papers:
     • English: Similar to the paper for other academies, it assesses English language proficiency.
     • General Knowledge: This paper covers the same subjects as for other academies.

2. Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview:

   • Candidates who qualify the written examination are called for the SSB interview.
   • The SSB interview is conducted over a span of five to six days and consists of various stages designed to assess the suitability of candidates for a career in defense services.
   • The stages of the SSB interview include:
     • Intelligence Tests: These tests evaluate logical reasoning and cognitive ability.
     • Group Discussions (GD) and Group Planning Exercises: Candidates are assessed on their ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
     • Psychological Tests: These tests assess personality traits and psychological suitability for defense services.
     • Personal Interview: A one-on-one interview where candidates’ motivation, leadership potential, and knowledge are evaluated.
